    Grounding Video

I think it would be hard to claim he didn't maintain the boat. There are a number of videos of him working with the dealer Marine Max to sort out all the issues (and there were many..). None of this suggested he did anything but do the right thing to resolve the deficiencies. He was patient...

Holding tank vent smell and aeration

Doesn't seem to be a big difference what gets flushed down the toilet when running an aerator. It does help to periodically clean out the holding tank a couple times a year. I'm just flushing down a small scoop of bulk sodium perchlorate every so often and this seems to really help. BTW...

Inline Inlet between Sea Cock and Strainer

Just add a tee to the output of the strainer to the raw water pump and add a ball valve. Then you can add a hose connection at the ball valve, or run a hose to a more convenient location and add a hose connection such as this...

    Generator losses raw water prime.

Do you have a strainer inline between the through hull and pump? Possible you could be getting an air leak there. You are right to think that when running you get a bit of suction at the through hull, but there would need to be a leak back through the pump and HX, etc. to create an issue...

I think I found a Hatteras LRC 65 in Brazil.

Sharp looking boat. Looks more like a Defever, but not exactly, windows are not characteristic of one.

2nd start of fire in electrical equipment, what are your experiences ?

Here is what we use for end ferrules in production. Very good quality German tool. https://www.newark.com/weidmuller/0567300000/pz3-crimp-tool-ferrules/dp/65T4972

2nd start of fire in electrical equipment, what are your experiences ?

Wow, this thread has really gone south. Posting a video of someone who has no clue about how to terminate ferrules does no good to further your cause. Not sure if you are aware, but often times getting CE approval for importation of certain systems to Europe REQUIRES the use of ferrules on...

    Strataglass Deep scratch repair

I'm afraid you are out of luck. It likely has a scratch resistant coating and can't be polished out. If it bothers you enough some canvas shops can replace the plastic, but sometimes it's more straight-forward to just have the panel remade. Bummer too since that panel looks to otherwise be in...

2nd start of fire in electrical equipment, what are your experiences ?

I'm not a fan of the crimp shown a few posts ago, especially where there are heavy gauge wires, vibration and high current. Copper is a weak metal, and with the transition from the larger barrel to the tab that area will work harden and fracture over time with vibration. If there is no...

Ranger Tugs 43 real world range

I don't see why Ranger would have chosen pods for these boats. Considering they are built in, and used in the PNW where logs an debris are common they seem a bad choice. Lindell also fitted pods to many of their newer line of boats, and it puzzles me. Sure, they are more efficient at speed and...

2nd start of fire in electrical equipment, what are your experiences ?

I'm still baffled by the fact that you can't import the correct cable to Greece from an overseas or other European source. Do they have some sort of a massive tariff or other trade protection in-place, or do shipping companies just plain not do business there? Seems like this sort of lack of...

These terminal blocks appear to be standard Phoenix Contact parts. https://mm.digikey.com/Volume0/opasdata/d220001/medias/docus/640/1704936.pdf I've specified these terminal blocks many times on our PCB's. They are rated for bare wire or ferrules per the spec sheet. We always use ferrules...

2nd start of fire in electrical equipment, what are your experiences ?

I don't think we can help with parts availability, you are just going to get optimal solutions from people with easy access to materials. To be perfectly blunt, we aren't able to assess the access to supplies, that's kind of on you I'm afraid. Is shipping of a supply of materials from a...

2nd start of fire in electrical equipment, what are your experiences ?

I'm with Luna on this. A ferrule is the best solution to this. You will likely have to test out the largest size that will fit the terminal and trim down the wire a bit to fit the ferrule. You want to use one without an insulator, like this...

    Peeling and Cracking Fix

There appears to be a large amount of what looks to be poor quality fairing compound (Bondo) in the second image. Perhaps this was an area where a patch was made for an obsolete piece of electronics? Either way, as RT suggested above, Alexseal in roll and tip application would make the most...

    Peeling and Cracking Fix

That looks like it could be paint and not gelcoat. As stated above. it's all needs to be ground back to solid material, primed then sprayed. It's going to be a challenge to prep the non-skid area, it will probably need to be ground all the way off and an alternative non-skid applied, or some...

Help with removing raw water intake hoses.

I've found this too and whenever I work on a hose with the original hose clamps replace them with the Scandvik ones. They are much smoother operating and allow for better clamping. Also, as mentioned above, putting Rectorseal #21 (which is black) on the fitting before putting the hose on...
