Webboat 4G Plus - anyone using this?

I use a domestic 4G router. Maybe not as good range but a lot cheaper. Similar to this one: https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-LTE-Modem-Broadband-Connection/dp/B01N5ASNTE/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=4g+router&qid=1610380713&sr=8-3 Before I used a "Mi-Fi", a more portable version...

GB32 Woodie Under Contract: Lots of Questions :)

headliner replacement Some years ago I replaced the headliner in a 1979 GB42 I owned at the time. I just came across a discussion from the now-discontinued Grand Banks forum that I had saved and which be of use to those contemplating the procedure.

    Large Dogs

I have two Labs that cruise with us each summer. I built some steps to go from the swim platform to the cockpit. In my boat its is six feet from platform to top of gunwale so it is challenging. A few years ago I built the steps shown below. These have worked well but a copule of issues led...

the aft cleats which are mounted on the bulwark have worked themselves loose

Regarding what the gunwales add to the strutural integrity of the boat I am not qualified to say but others have made openings in it:

the aft cleats which are mounted on the bulwark have worked themselves loose

Sorry, they are not plywood strips, they are solid teak strips (my bad). The strips or planks are about a inch thick. They are attached from above with large bronze fasteners going through the deck and on to the deck beams. In between deck beams smaller fasteners are used to attach the...

the aft cleats which are mounted on the bulwark have worked themselves loose

The bulwarks in the Grand Banks woodies are made by stacking lengths of plywood and then screwing the together with vertical fasteners. So, made out of plywood, these bulwarks often rot in places. (I have found virtually no rot in solid wood in my boat but lots in plywood.) As such, I would...

New member, Grand Banks 42 Europa

I came across this from an old American Marine News magazine (predecessor to Spray). It is from the vol 6 issue 3 which is undated but from the articles appears to be form late 1972 or early 1973.

    Grand Banks Manuals

The bottom looks like a reef and the brightwork needs some TLC but that is a very handsome boat! In my opinion the Europa is the best layout of the GB 42s and have noticed that they tend to sell at a premium to the other models.

Xsbank, do you know if Frode kept or has access to the forum archives when IAGBO was hived-off? I understand Frode provided the technical support to scrape the earlier Grand Banks Owners forum. In their later years neither forum had a great deal of activity but for people like me with an older...

Tender Cranes - What do you have and is it reliable?

I installed the same Nick Jackson pipe davit on my earlier boat a 1979 GB 42 classic. It generally worked well but here are some issues I had: When installed, it seems the crane was not perfectly vertical but rather slightly slanted towards the stern. As such, it required some effort to swing...

That manual was for hull number 642, very close to my previous boat–a 1979 GB 42 classic, hull number 637–so I would think also from 1979. There is another manual in the Library section of this forum from an earlier GB 42 (#488). https://www.trawlerforum.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=128...
