I don't know, but have always assumed most waste oil is used for something... Maybe burned for energy generation, or heat? Or as a feedstock for new materials. Where I live any garage will take my old oil. I suspect that the recyclers pay them to take it away and it has some downstream value...

You should be able to call up fuel temperature at the pump through the dashboard display. I think that's a good proxy for IP temperature. But electronics can fail for reasons beyond out of bound temperatures. Also high fuel temperature causes a different DTC IIRC. I'd be inclined to trust...
