Had same problem, same engine. If you remove the whole mechanism from the dash & look inside, the levers have several holes in them that the cables attach to with pins. My cables to the engine were at the outermost hole from center. By moving the pin 2 holes closer to the center of the lever...

Not being a GB guru, I would guess the upper valves are the return lines. Appears you can draw from either tank & return to either. What I find interesting is the different knobs so you know what you're doing in the dark. Cool! Like the Navy way

Try broomstick thru handles w muscle on both ends. Better leverage than directly above it

You may find the juice is the expensive part. If R-12, $tandby if you/he can find it. May need certification just to purchase.

Went thru this when I bolted the arch on inside. An access hole cut to do that revealed there are random *vertical* wood members inside it, and access is limited to maybe 18" fore & aft for each hole. Seriously, the manufacturer must have put the rails on before installing the bridge.

Strikes again! Preparing to paint, removing hand rails on outside of bridge. Surprise! They are machine screws, not wood screws. And of course half of them spin - inside the bridge side with no access. Well the handrails are off, but I have no idea how to put them back on. Past experience says...
