I think I found a Hatteras LRC 65 in Brazil.

Since it’s for sale, ask the broker for the HIN.

I think I found a Hatteras LRC 65 in Brazil.

I agree with Peter. It is not likely a Hatteras. It could be the angle of the photography but the hull lines look different and I am not talking about port lights. Now it might be a clone, it might be better than a Hatteras. Find the HIN and research that number.

Issues with the Navionics Web App

My Raymarine MFD’s are probably 20 years old. They actually use CF cards. I have never updated the Navionics cards. My position is that rocks and islands never move. Buoys change colors and move but my situational awareness notiCEs These differences immediately. I have Navionics on my iPad...

Cannot find a operating manual to fix a problem

So much for the easy stuff. Now you need a multimeter, first test for voltage at the generator. Then test at the shore/gen switch. Test both gen in and power out at the switch. Unplug shore before doing the test. One thing to note shore/gen switches can fail. It is possible that shore side...

    Not Terrible Cummins QSC8.3 Vibration

I am assuming that you ran the starboard engine in neutral with the port engine off and still had the vibration. You then ran the port engine in neutral and the starboard engine off and there was no vibration. Is this correct?

    3000 Watt Inverter

voltage drop increases the length of time to recharge batteries. If the length of time to recharge is acceptable then you wouldn’t notice any issue from voltage drop. If you are trying to minimize length of recharge time then locating the batteries close to the inverter and using 4/0 cable...

    Starlink Mini

There is a new mini accessory that allows the mini to run off a DeWalt 24v battery. Very convenient for those who just want to temporarily place it on the boat.

Cannot find a operating manual to fix a problem

Last resort, follow the electrons. Doing that always leads me to the problem.

You did flip the shore/off/generator switch to generator correct?

    Selling our boat questions

If you are concerned with having good legal paper work that protects you then continue on looking for a broker to help. If you are just looking for help in transferring title and payment then all you need is a marine escrow company.

    Fuel Valve position question

I am not a fan of those valves. It is very easy to get confused on exactly which path is open and closed. I would make darn sure you know how to position the valve to get the direction you think you want.

    Repower of Nova Trawler

I even penciled it out with used engines but the list of little things just kept adding up. Not to mention your boat is out of commission for a whole season. That’s a lot of insurance and moorage fees added to the cost of a boat you can’t use till the job is done.

    Repower of Nova Trawler

At first blush a repower looks doable. Then you get into the details. You never realize all the little things that go along with a repower. The props, shafts, exhaust and motor mounts are the obvious changes. Once you get going you start running into all kinds of unforeseen issues. Thru...

    Trawler brands with semi-bluewater seaworthiness...

When it comes to this forum I define Bluewater as Ocean crossing. While my boat is capable to roam from Cabo to Steward, I would not define it as Bluewater capable. With the right captain my boat could do the Caribbean but I wouldn’t advise an inexperienced captain that it is semi-Bluewater.

Cannot find a operating manual to fix a problem

The manual for your unit shows a circuit breaker where your fault button is located. I am sure that is your circuit breaker. Have you tried cycling the button?

    Repower of Nova Trawler

This is very good advice. Years ago I had my own small boat yard. I had a gas powered Uniflite 42 that I desperately wanted to repower with 400 hp diesels. The boat was originally designed for such horse power. All I had to do was drop in new engines and transmissions. I ran the numbers...

1989 Bayliner 3888 MY Hino Engines need Info/Opinions

I’ve seen this boat come up before. Its real issue is a wet stringer where the motor mount attaches. The required fix is removal of the engine. Cutting into the stringer, replacing the bad material, reglassing and reinstalling the engine. One can choose not to repair the stringer but, you run...

    Curious, Cashiers or Certified check?

I too would recommend using an escrow agent. They carry insurance should something go wrong.
