Need Advice - Lehman - Rebuild or Replace?

Are you sure the crank shaft is broken? Or is that an assumption? That was one of the things we were told about our Ford Lehman 120 by a Deisel mechanic, before we found out it was the damper plate between the tranny and engine.

Now that is a mystery. Why did the damper plate springs break, seize engine, just because a bilge hose broke and filled 10" of water in bilge? Mechanically, it makes no sense as I can tell.

As for Monroe, we are in a holding pattern:( Hey Rusty, I'm so glad we had the opportunity to make that talk by...

    For Lehman seized/solved

Just a quick note on our Ford Lehman 120 seizing on the Sacramento River last summer. After a bilge pump hose burst and filled the bilge with water, causing us to shut down the engine and bail out the water, we spent five hot days of 112 degree weather trying to get the boat running again. We...

New to the Trawler Forum, but not new to the trawler life. I grew up with a boating family aboard a 40' Santa Barbara cruising the PNW with mom, dad and brother in the '70's. In the '80's it was a Willard 30 Mark IV. In '97 dad bought a Willard 40 Nomad and shortly there after, a Grand Banks 32...
