Just an update - the door came out great.* It has been cetoled and you would hardly know there had been a repair. Thanks to everyone for their comments and advice.

We have a 1986 Monk36.* The dinghy is an Achilles LSI96 with air floor and keel.* The motor is 6HP Yamaha 4 stroke.* We would like a recommendation for a reasonably priced davit system that enables us to keep the motor on the dinghy.* Any recommendations?

Thanks for the abundance of good advice. We bought a pipe clamp and mixed some epoxy and put it all together. Unfortunately we didn't read the West System tutorials on-line until after we applied the epoxy. We used a 1:1 type epoxy but it was more of a filler than an adhesive epoxy. Anyway...

Being new at this, we are a bit puzzled (actually a lot) with epoxy, resin, putty, adhesive and wanting to figure out what product to use and when. Is there a tutorial somewhere that will make it plain as day?

We can bring it together but leaving a slight gap. The boat is new to us so we are guessing that there was some water damage. We were wondering if we should be clamping it or something similiar after applying the epoxy.
