    Flybridge Enclosure / Isenglass recommendations

    Tony, Ouch! Sounds like you had a bad experience. I'm in SW Florida, not TX, but you bring up a good point. When I get references from potential vendors & check out their jobs ... what would be "red flags" to look for that signal sub-par workmanship on a flybridge enclosure?

    So, would you consider 30 mil to be thin and 40 mil to be thick?? Or are you talking less than 30 mil?

    Flybridge Enclosure / Isenglass recommendations

    We're preparing to do the Great Loop. Our 36' Grand Banks Europa has a bimini top over the flybriidge (it appears to be a vinyl type material, not canvas). We're about to begin shopping for a vendor to extend the bimini stern-ward for ~ 4 feet and enclose the front and both sides with zippered...

    Spare Prop Storage - 36' GB Europa

    We'll be living on the boat for 3 years (except for winters when we'll have to leave it on the hard), doing the Great Loop, so we need to have the spare prop with the boat. Besides, I had a devil of a time finding it. I'd hate to be stuck somewhere with our single engine prop out of commission &...

    Spare Prop Storage - 36' GB Europa

    Where do owners of 36' Grand Banks Europa's store their spare props? How have you affixed it so it doesn't slide in bad weather?

    Source for scrap of sailcloth??

    I'm looking for a scrap piece of white or off-white sailcloth (approx. 30 inches long by 8 inches wide) to repair a wind curtain on our trawler. Does anyone have any idea of where I might find a scrap piece of sailcloth? Any graveyard for torn sails?? I'm not even sure where to look to buy...

    using pine pellet cat litter

    Thanks for all the suggestions. It would be helpful to have the name of the "scotch Bright" like pad. We just purchased some Nature's Best litter (the clumping corn type) and I plan to give it a test.

    using pine pellet cat litter

    HI RTF, Cats carry the litter on their paws as they exit the litter box and they sometimes kick it out as they're covering, so the small clay pieces end up on the floor and even with constant cleaning, some will seek the lowest level & end up in the bilge. Once they're wet, they stick & form a...

    using pine pellet cat litter

    I read several cat owner's on boats recommend the pine pellets as cat litter to avoid having clay in your bilge. So, I bout a bag & tried it - BUT - how do you scoop it and avoid not taking away all the pellets with each scoop?

    Question about 2004 or newer MS 34

    I know on a 2005 Mainship 34 you can lift the stairs to enter the engine compartment. Is there any other access point that gives you more head room so you're not in a cave? If you have to replace an engine, is it done through the stairs entryway? Thanks, Sue

    Photo of 2004/2006 Mainship 34 prop?

    Hi, Can anyone post a photo (or email it to me) of a 34' single screw Mainship 2004 - 2006 prop and rudder on a trawler that's hauled out? I'm considering buying one and I'd like to see how well the prop is protected. Thanks, Sue

    Recommend Fuel Efficient Trawler

    Hi Chrisjs, Yes, thanks. I'm aware of the other Loop criteria. And I'm aware that the longer the boat the higher the costs such as dockage & insurance. As I make a decision on which trawler to buy I want to try to keep my overall expenses as low as possible. Any other specific cost reduction...

    Recommend Fuel Efficient Trawler

    Ohh, an Albin 25 would be really small. Besides me & my husband, we're taking 2 cats with us. Even a 32' Island Gypsy will be a squeeze. Nice gas mileage though in the Albin 25. I'd like to find that in a 32-36' trawler.
