    Cummins 6BTA 5.9 45 Min Impeller swap

Maine. But email or talk with Tony Athens. I got the impression that his position is that the cooler is not needed on a recreational boat that isn't running hard all day. But I may misremember.

    Cummins 6BTA 5.9 45 Min Impeller swap

Ditto here. Also, I removed the fuel cooler per Tony Athens. Made accessing the pump for impeller changes much easier.

    generator not producing power

Two times close together we had the same symptoms on our Westerbeke 5.0. Both times it was a capacitor. I believe that there are two buried in the insides and they were not particularly easy to get to. Upside was that no problems now for about 5 years. Knock on wood. And, yes, bridge the...

Columbia River Gillnet Fight Starting Again

That mirrors what I've seen in my lifetime on the East Coast with Atlantic salmon and other species of fish. Very sad and very scary.

    Spray Cold Galvanizing Experience

Horses for courses? Depends upon local conditions? Zinc paint spray on our prop in the relatively cold waters of the NE has worked well for us the past few years (vs nothing, or anti-foul, on the prop). A few, but easily scraped off, barnacles.

    Labeling the inflatable

I've used these on my last three inflatables. https://www.boatnumberplate.com/inc/sdetail/4110/4082 My only complaint is that if your dinghy is regularly tied up with a batch of other boats, as ours is, so that there's a lot of rubbing on the number plates from other boats , the numbers...

TF Gathering in SE Florida 2019

We would make it if the dates are the 7-10, subject to the usual caveats regarding weather, dog kennel availability and whether we will be going to Longboat Key this year at all if the Red Tide and dead fish in the canal of our rental house haven't departed. However, it seems to me that the...
