    Humor

I was a masochist. I must confess that I owned and loved British cars in my misspent youth (lots of spents, little income). MG's of various types, an autocross prepped Healy Sprite, a Jaguar 3.8S sedan. Thought I had wisely outgrown all that. But in my latter years, as my memory (including...

    Interlux Substitute

Here you go Eric. We used their paints for years on our old 40' wood boat. Great traditional enamel. And if anyone needs some white lead for canvas bedding, I still have some from Kirby. https://kirbypaint.com/

    Swim platform construction material?

Have posted what we did in a couple of threads over the past years. Been very happy with it so far. No maintenance. Strong. Non slip. Ours is 30" deep. https://www.trawlerforum.com/forums/showpost.php?p=161157&postcount=59

Anyone Else Have A Collection Of These?

Boy do I have! 30 + gals of 25 yr old diesel, 4-5 five gal jugs of mixed paint thinner, paint and god knows what else, ancient partially full paint cans innumerable, 3 five gal jugs of old motor oil, partially used paint spray cans of paint innumerable, several containers of old mixed and...

    Disappearing steering fluid

Hydrive system. Upper and lower helms. Auto pilot. Loss of fluid noticeable at upper helm. Refilling with a couple of syringe squirts daily. Some minor dribble from upper helm seals but not enough to explain the loss. No sign of leaks anywhere when tracing all the hydraulic lines. But there must...

"Sea Fox" seen at the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta Brooklin, ME, yesterday. Lots of gorgeous classic sail boats but this is Trawler Forum.

    Repainting black window frames

I did mine (all by hand, groan :banghead:) a few years back. I was advised to use an aluminum primer as a tie coat, which I did. So far, so good.

Is Your GPS Ready for the April 6th Week Rollover

Had the GPS, tide/date, issue this spring after launch for the season with our Garmin 17x GPS antenna, GPSMap 4208 and 4210. 1999 dates showing. Installed latest legacy software. Didn't solve the problem and actually made it worse as the GPS 17x then would not show as a Garmin device, chart...

    10-12 knot cruise trawler 26-32'?

This a prop cage. Highly desirous in Maine waters due to lobster trap buoys.

    10-12 knot cruise trawler 26-32'?

Since we put the prop cage on 8kts is about it. Can do 9 or 10 but then pushing a big bow wave and consuming much more fuel. Before the cage we could get 12kts at WOT, still pushing a big bow wave, but 8-9 was still the sweet spot. Planing? Nah.
