Not sure what you mean about Halon in your comment. The original design was to put a fire down to a controllable without removing O2 for humans. What fire control do you think Subs use? Not dry chemical I assure you.

A good comment. But we can usually put out lil flare up quickly when we are in tune with the boat and prepared. The aftermath is what usually ticks us off more.

Your insurance company usually does not pay for the dry chemical clean up. It is a hazardous material not to be inhaled. Around your electric panels and galley, please have on hand CO2 or Halon. Worth their expense.

You did not mention the size, rating or agent. Usually anything that does not require a DOT hydro inspection in considered disposable after a few years. Any size that requires a DOT hydro inspection (CO2 & some others) is worth servicing.

    Northern Lights relays vibrating loose

I had a NL bug like this a few years ago. The female fitting in the block connector had deformed and was not all the way up to make great contact with the relays male spade coming in. If yours are upside down (harness side up), any small tool can help push the block connectors down while pushing...

    MY to Trawler

Not pretty; Fat 8 kts, approx 1000 rpm, approx 8 to 8.5 gph. Less gen-sets. One drawback about fat girls like this (18' beam), fat-butt and mpg are not usually in the same conservation. Still have Detroit 12V71TIs. Fast idle (800 rpm) will just make 7 kts and uses 5 gph. The Twin Disk...

    MY to Trawler

I had averaged over 100k+ every year since the 80s. My road rage was getting the best of me till I retired that career two years ago. I made my part time work full time and don't think I did 4000 miles all this last year. My trip to Malabar for thanksgiving was the only big trip this year and...

    MY to Trawler

BandB We had to shove off da dock Wednesday. Cars scare me. If you found my other post (nother site) you may understand I was still looking for dinner. Josie spoiled me again and snuck aboard another turkey. All I had to do was sit back, drink (my fav) and eat a lot again. Wish you and OB safe...

    MY to Trawler

N*G from Jacksonville FL, sometimes referred to south Georgia. Were not a trawler, just run our old 58 Bert MY at trawler speed. With her keel and deep hull form, she does ride nicely. Pur$e still suffers. Extra ponies don't go to waste, we can still punch thru an ugly inlet, run around, run...

    Simrad Auto Pilot Software

On your earlier post, you quoted an AC20 software part number, A kit part number and an AP25 software part number. I'm assuming the software is just new e-proms. What was the kit? The removal tool? AND, did the AC20 need upgrading to work with the WR20? Thx. ,rc

Sorry to open an old thread. I'm needing to upgrade my AP25 also. Can you offer the WestMarine model number you used on your software order? Thx,
