    Wanted: Kadey Krogen 42

No sweat Graham, I read your original post with tongue in cheek, as I suspected it had been written. I realize that often people will just join a forum, post what they want, and take the lazy way out. Unfortunately I have been scouring the internet for months and have been using the help of a...

    Wanted: Kadey Krogen 42

Months of looking has narrowed down the field. We'd like to find a Kadey Krogen 42. If any of you know of any that are for sale that are not listed on YachtWorld, I would appreciate a note about them. Max budget is $250k, prefer boat on the East Coast, Gulf Coast, or in the Caribbean.

    Why Do Brokers Bash Bayliner?

The usual standards: Kadey Krogen, Grand Banks, Nordhavn.

    Why Do Brokers Bash Bayliner?

We had one of the smaller Bayliners back in the early 80s and my father cursed that boat more than he seemed to enjoy it (Volvo/Penta is still forbidden in our family). That, combined with what I hear from brokers, has me avoiding them. As pointed out above, the seem to be everything we are...

    Why Do Brokers Bash Bayliner?

Why do all the brokers I talk to advise me to avoid Bayliner and Meridian boats?

    Wanted: In need of Trawler

I am also actively searching for a trawler. Just my two cents . . . After four months of searching with the help of brokers we have discovered that using a broker has its benefits as well as drawbacks. The first broker we tried to have help us did not actively search for vessels, only waited...

    What's wrong with Cessnas?

I once had dreams of swapping the Mooney for a Cessna 337. I remember watching some video of a Maule being flown out of a hanger, cool stuff.

    What's wrong with Cessnas?

Mooney M20 for me. Great combination of speed and efficiency, and not near as small as people make them out to be. They are a bit of a task to get into, especially as I keep adding on the years to my body.

Baytown? Small world, I was born and raised there. Once we locate our dream vessel we will likely bring it back to Baytown at some point. Do you keep your Californian at a marina in the Baytown area?

    Other: Market Trends

I've been wondering . . . The market for sailing vessels tends to peak at the end of the winter/spring cruising season. Does the powerboat market have a seasonal trend as well?

    Narrowing The Field

We've eliminated several styles and decided that a trawler style is our best fit. After looking at several makes/models in the water and online we've started to focus our search on the flush deck DeFevers of various sizes. Got stabilizers at the top of the requirements list for the admiral...

    Greetings, and . . .

We've chartered 40ft+ sailing catamarans before, thus the initial thought of purchasing one. Problem is the mast height and doing the Loop. Our intent regardless of what type of vessel we purchase is to spend the first 2 - 4 weeks with a qualified, paid captain to teach us how to safely and...

    Greetings, and . . .

We're not going to charter, we're going to do our best to analyze our likes/dislikes, our mission, budget, capabilities, etc. and then we're going to purchase a boat. Our off the grid food plans are simple, frozen, sandwiches, easy prep style food, no need for a gourmet galley.

    Greetings, and . . .

Prefer anchoring and tying to the ball over paying for marina space, thus the desire to have off the grid capabilities. We will likely spend 2-3 months at a time on the boat, then a month or two off, then back to the boat. As stated, just the two of us and no experience beyond outboard powered...

    Greetings, and . . .

Age and style of boat doesn't matter to us. We'd like to do the Loop, so I suppose no wider than 21 feet. Prefer 2 engines. Prefer as close to turnkey as possible (as little refit and repair as possible).

    Greetings, and . . .

These forums are great places to get opinions about all kinds of things. I appreciate the time people take to contribute to them. Thanks. My reason for being here is simple, the wife and I thought we wanted a sailing catamaran, but haven't found the perfect vessel yet. The longer it takes...
