tachometer and fuel guage quit working..

Yes I have looked at them and they certianly have daisy chained the grounds together.. actually looks like everything is daisy chained together! .. I guess it'll just be a process of elimination.. Oh well, another sunday spent tracing wires and figuring out the logic behind it all, twisted up...

tachometer and fuel guage quit working..

Thanks psneeld. Well they both have 12 volts going to them, so I'm thinking a ground problem. It dosen't make much sense to me that one would work and not the other. But then I don't know much about how this boat is wired yet.

tachometer and fuel guage quit working..

My tach and fuel gauge suddenly quit working. My batteries needed replacing as the engine was struggling to turn over. I have since replaced my batteries, but the tach and fuel gauges still don't work. The tach on the flying bridge works fine (no fuel gauge up there) and I took my alternator in...

    Teak Guard

I’ve been using Teak Guard for about a year and a half now and can tell you a bit about it from my experience. My boat has been in south Florida since I started using Teak Guard. Be sure you get the allguard teak guard as there apparently is another product with a similar name and not as good...

    Pressure pump...

Good point to switch it off while underway. Never thought about doing that but makes sense. I can barely hear it my pump without the engines running..but then again I don't hear very well anyway. I think that is a very good idea while traveling.

    Pressure pump...

Good points psneeld, and well taken. Thankyou. Although now that you mention it, I just realized that there is no connection on this boat to hook up to dockside water if I wanted too. Never really realized that before now. Always just made sure the tank wasn't empty. I'm glad I asked the...

    Pressure pump...

I don't ever leave the city water on, only use it to fill the water tank and live off that (except for drinking) that way my tanks get refreshed constantly and I don't worry about sinking the boat if a hose comes undone. I'm just concerned with not burning up my water pump or water heater if the...

    Pressure pump...

I'm wondering if the folks that live aboard turn off their pressure pump when leaving the boat for a few hours or more. I had a hose come off my deck shower and empty the tank. Fortunately I was on board and figured out what had happened before the water pump burned up. I thought of just turning...

    Flybridge improvement…

If I measured once, I must have measured it a hundred times and it still gave me the heebie-jeebies putting the saw to it. And of course not wanting to overcut it, I made it too small at first then it took ten times the work to get it right! Besides the fact that I wanted to wait for a day where...

    Flybridge improvement…

Can't argue with that..by the way, I haven't water tested it yet... but it passed the slip test! I think I may have to make a cutout adapter to set glasses in while in the tray to prevent them from tipping over. Either way, beats me tipping over hauling them up the ladder!

    Flybridge improvement…

I hope this is an ok forum to post this, and thought others may find it interesting. I love the flybridge but found out quickly that especially with company, bringing refreshments up and down the ladder is neither safe nor fun. So after seeing something similar on a Flemming, I did some...

    Marine trader build history?...

Just thought I'd throw this out there. Found this sticker on the backside of a piece of teak paneling as I was tearing out original construction to do some rewiring. I know there were many different yards doing build work at the time. I was just wondering if anyone might be familiar with it...

Where is your "home" port and tell us a little about it..

Brucek, the MT I have is advertised as a Sedan in the original brochure which I have. It's distinguished from the Double Cabin or Sundeck model configuration as it has no Aft stateroom. I suppose it could probably be a Sedan model with or without a flybridge. And Moonstruck, I have read your...

Where is your "home" port and tell us a little about it..

My home port is Pirates Cove in Port Salerno, FL. A nice little resort and marina just off the ICW. The people here are great, really friendly and helpful. Most here have Sport Fishers, but there are a few trawlers. I meet lots of folks that stop for a day or two, then continue on their...

    Wiper Motors...

Thanks Jeffnick and RickB, I appreciate the information. ..and if the wiper motor pushes my 22" armes, then for 30 bucks it'll be the cheapest fix since a tube of caulk!

    Wiper Motors...

Forgot to ask Jeffnick, ...the specks of the motor your link included looks like it would work for me. My question is how long are the arm and blades that you use it on? I've been told that it's important to know that as apparently the longer the hardware, the more powerful a motor is needed...

    Wiper Motors...

Well I'm back from checking every used marine parts store and a lot of electrical motor shops...no luck. Apparently the unit is somewhat of a dinosaur, no one I talked to has ever seen one. Initially it wouldn't operate, so I took off the housing and manually turned the armature. Flipped the...

    Wiper Motors...

Need advice on wiper motors... Is anyone familiar with this ASMO wiper motor? I’d like to have it rebuilt if possible, seeing as how the other two still work. Apparently it has been discontinued and the folks at ASMO were no help all. I can’t seem to find anyone that does rewinding’s anymore...

Well Thanks for all the great information in these posts. I really appreciate it. I have to back in to the slip here. But the info provided here will be a big help in other situations I'm sure. Just saying hello...

Back from sailing in New England. Wx was just this side of miserable, but had a good time anyway. Thanks for all the comments..some good advice there. One thing about backing into my slip is I'm single handed most times and from the flybridge...well it can get interesting to say the least. And...
