Air in fuel line FL 135

Well I guess I fixed it, have run about 150 hours with no further problems. The fuel tank shut off valve fittings were loose... Anyway thanks for all the help

    Marine engine from China

Time and time again, I have to learn the hard way that saving money by getting the cheaper version is NEVER the best option, and rarely a good one. Sometimes you have to do it, but you won't save money. In the end you will end up with the better, more expensive gizmo, whatever it may be. And you...

What kind of sun glasses do you use?

Costa hammerheads with glass lenses, best shades I've ever owned. The randolph engineering aviators in my avatar are long gone having been sat on one too many times...

Air in fuel line FL 135

So I got about 15 hours before the same problem, air in the fuel filters. Since the fuel filters are the high point I'm guessing that I need to run a bleed, or return line off that housing as well. That or run an actual fuel pump around the lift pump to see if that is where the air is getting...

Air in fuel line FL 135

I do understand I most def have a problem sucking air. I can fix that problem in less than 2 minutes, including pulling the hatch and getting there. We will see if the return line is a fix or not, I will let you all, or ya'll know once I know. Going fishing in the morning for 7 or so hours so...

Air in fuel line FL 135

Yeah still sucking air at some point. If this allows for me to run and not die sporadically, I'll forget I had an air leak and be fine with that.

Air in fuel line FL 135

Well I plumbed the return line in yesterday morning and then took a couple friends out halibut fishing to see how it ran. Was out for about 7 hours and it ran just fine. Gonna try and put 20 hours on this week to see if that fixed my issue or not. Caught a few halibut too. Thanks for all the...

Air in fuel line FL 135

Well I would have plumbed that return line in today but I have a 6 hour charter tomorrow morning. Didn't want to change things when I know it will run 6 hours no problem. So I'll plumb that in after the trip tomorrow and maybe make a longer run sunday to see how things go. I'll let the group...

Air in fuel line FL 135

I dig it Oliver, thanks. I just knew when I saw the anchor in that pic that someone would mention it haha. Don't worry, I'll lose it on the bottom in a couple months..... Lost a danforth on a similar boat I decked on in the kind of conditions I would anchor in.

Not even close to the ship of my dreams, who can afford that? But I'll be taking good care of it till That ship comes along, my first boat. I put a lot of work into her and I'm a happy captain.

Air in fuel line FL 135

AAAAnnnnnd there it is, I knew someone would dislike my rusty anchor and/or its type, its the only thing on the boat I haven't painted, didn't see the point. Honestly I haven't used it yet, so don't know anything about it other than that its heavy. Got a spare danforth, is that the right one...

Air in fuel line FL 135

Well I'll look into collapsing fuel lines and such. Adding the return line to the fuel tank is so easy I'm going to give that a try. Not very hard to un-do either. All the filters have been replaced, fuel tanks are all brand new so no junk in them. Engine was replaced in 96, but I've only had...

Air in fuel line FL 135

Thanks for the info guys. I'm gonna plumb in a return line tomorrow. Funny its been set up this way since it was installed in 96 i would guess. I'll let the forum know how it goes after a few 20 or so hours. Thanks again

Air in fuel line FL 135

In the first pic on the bottom left you can see the oil line for the injection pump, but I assure you there is diesel in the line I'm talking about. And air...

Air in fuel line FL 135

Ok got some pictures today of the layout. Here is the return line setup. comes out of the injection manifold and comes back around to the last picture, and goes into a fitting on the engine block. Have no idea where it goes from there, but it has to be trying to put fuel into the...

Air in fuel line FL 135

Well I'll take a look at the return line tomorrow. 100% sure it never went back to a fuel tank though. Would be nice if it did since it could spit that air out at that point. I'll try and take some pictures of the set up. the 135 is a little different than the 120.

Air in fuel line FL 135

So I'm having this problem, every 10-15 hours my engine will die. I pop the bleed screws on the fuel filters and it is pressurized with air. Bleed it out and it runs fine for another period of time, as bad as 2 hours but usually 10 or so. So I replaced the racor filter and seals, the fuel...

    Fiberglassing bridge deck

Yeah what they said. Need to replace any rotted/soft wood or you are wasting your time. One layer a day, do the whole thing not pieces of it. My entire bridge from the seats back was soft, cut it all out, wood was like mud inside. Cleaned it all out, put down new plywood and glassed over that. I...
