    Galley Appliances - High Value

"Get rid of all those kitchen toys. All you need is a propane cooktop with oven, outdoor grill (prefer propane) a toaster for breakfast, a microwave and one other appliance of your choice (instapot, slow cooker, air fryer, etc.) Beyond that you will need one large and one small skillet. One...

    Blue Water Capable

Hmmm. After being built, someone got my Bluewater 40' here from Tiawan some time ago. 2/700 gal. diesel tanks, 2 200 gal. water tanks.

Varnish vs Teak Oil for exterior caprails

After reading all these ideas that require a lot of work (or seem to) I am just going to go with Cetol and redo once every year or so. :-)

    sharrow propeller. a revolution?

As a PE with BS and MS in Nuclear Engineering, I applaud your patience regarding cold fusion. Don't hold your breath. ;-)

    sharrow propeller. a revolution?

Print your way to the future I've even seen aeronautical parts that phase from copper to steel without welding. Amazing.

    sharrow propeller. a revolution?

You have to read a lot of ego inflation BS to finally get to this. Didn't read anything about patents, but might have missed that in the rhetoric. After our testing and driving the boat with all three props, our conclusion is the following. The Sharrow Propeller™— 1. Performs significantly...

Looking for Info on Lehman 2702 6015

LIve llfe with wanton abandon Dear Lehman friend. Donate the existing Lehmans you have as anchors to a worthy boater and buy two rebuilt 120's. As you will recall as an attorney, the three words every attorney hates to read in a contract is..."Notwithstanding the foregoing".:banghead:

    Replumb with PEX

Probably don't need as water pressure on boat is not that high...unless you are tied into a marina wtr. connection. I have 2 200 gallon stainless steel water tanks so I don't have the pressure problem. My water piping is copper and clear plastic with fiberglass (i think) reinforcement.

    Replumb with PEX

PEX is approved by the Florida Building Code for plumbing use. Is good stuff. Go forth and PEX it. b

Minimum Hp for 48' SD Trawler

Power Up! My 40 ft. Bluewater Pilothouse Trawler came from the factory in 1978 and the 2 na 120 hp Lehmans have done well. You can get rebuilt ones and parts are available. 80 hp won't work IMHO.

Bluewater 40 Boat Deck & Roof Overhang Extension

Amazing work. I have same Bluewater. Love this boat. I can see the benefit in extending the fantail cover. Great idea. I have just completed redoing salon roof, pilothouse roof and forward deck...not cheap, but with a little brightwork finishing, I'll be 1000%. The best thing I like is my "ice...

The gentleman did not give us any info about a "mate" or whatever you would call one. I have my boat in the Estuary in Alameda at the Grand Marina and go back and forth to Floriduh to my condo located at hooterville (Stuart FL) every 3 weeks or so. As an independent expert witness/consulting...

    Original boat name

My 40' Bluewater pilothouse trawler is named "Monarch III". My bet is that this was the 3rd boat of the owners. I even have Monarch pillows that were in the boat to boot. The life of the Monarch butterfly is most interesting. Obviously this boat is named after one that made the longer trip. My...

History of the Bluewater 40 Pilothouse Trawler

Wow. Thanks for the background. I have one, Monarch III, I acquired 3 years ago. I have every installation and operating manual for every system on the boat including the original warranty registration for the the Lehman 120s. I don't think there are many of these left. She is a beauty and I...

    Whats your opinion?

Wow! so many opinions and advice. I would keep the same name. If it is a registered vessel, you have to pay to change the name with the Coast Guard. More importantly, I think it is bad "ju ju" to change a boat's name. The gods may not like it. :-)
