    President 41 Sump Pump location

Mine is located under the generator. My generator is located directly forward of the steps leading down to the aft stateroom.

ACR with alternator and AC charger

Comodave - I'm sure I'm going to reveal my ignorance again, but would another option just be to leave the battery charger lead off the start battery and go ahead and let the ACR combine while on shore power to keep the start batteries charged?

Lehman Oil Pressure gage not working

    Air Conditioner Breaker Panel Switch

Thanks for the reply. I had no power at the aft ac condenser unit so I moved on to the breaker panel. I used an AC/DC voltage tester with leads and checked both the forward ac switch and aft ac switch. Tested the wire that goes to the push button breaker with the white wires on the other...

    Air Conditioner Breaker Panel Switch

Thanks for the response. There are no other markings on any side other than assembled in Mexico. Here are the rest of the pictures I have. Buss 2 is the buss with both ACs and the stove. Shore power and gen on/off at the top and then the three below are AC, AC, Stove. More accurately i...

    Air Conditioner Breaker Panel Switch

Hello fellow trawler fans. I have what I assume to be a switch which is not working and I could use some help identifying a replacement. I will include some pics below, but best I can tell it is a three position switch, located on my breaker panel, that selects between buss 1, off, and buss 2...

    puzzling electrical question

Back at my new gate and on for a minute. I have to apologize, I tried to limit how much I shared of the mess that is this system so we all didn't get in the weeds and I think I just confused everyone. Also, yes I was using a multimeter, not a volt meter - brain fart on that one. I was trying...

    puzzling electrical question

Thanks. Getting on a plane right now so no more responding for a bit. Also won't be back on the boat until a couple days before I take it in for paint. At shore, the dc panel receives power from a converter connected to the ac panel. There are many breakers going to the various items. I was...

    puzzling electrical question

Thanks. This is the PO setup that I am trying to correct. I had the same thought when I saw it. Boat is going in for a bottom job at the end of the month and I will ask them to look things over as well. But in the mean time I am trying to figure out how to undo what the PO has done. And I...

    puzzling electrical question

Sorry - See if I can explain better. Normal DC system with panel and everything that the PPO disconnected all batteries from. PO put a battery under the the dinette and wired it into the bilge pump, both positive and negative. The bilge pump was already wired into the rest of the system...

    puzzling electrical question

I guess my biggest question is how could the panel be reading 12v but the stuff isn't turning on?

    puzzling electrical question

Thanks. The start batteries actually don't go to the panel at all. They are just wired to their respective engines. I will also be addressing this in the future as well.

    puzzling electrical question

Hi all, I have an electrical question I'm hoping someone can help me figure out. For a "house bank", the PO just had a battery that charged off shore power and then ran 12 gauge wire to the bilge pump. From the bilge pump it connected to everything else and worked the lights, water pump...

    Wanted: AC Oil Pressure Gauge

It stays pegged to the high side - electric on/off engine on/off. I alligator clipped it to the other side and still stays pegged, even as the other moves, so I'm pretty sure it is broken.

    Wanted: AC Oil Pressure Gauge

Hi, I have a bad oil gauge I would like to replace and the folks at American Diesel said they stopped making them in 1993. So if anyone has switched out their gauges and has one they would like to sell me, let me know. I will include a pic of mine, but basically it is AC brand, dual station...

    Cruisair heat no raw water

Well Christmas miracles sometimes come early. I found the cover plate loose in a corner of the engine room. Looks like the same model as one of yours. R16CHW I don't suppose you have found any place that supplies parts? My rear unit burned up the switch plate. Or does Copeland make compatible...

    Cruisair heat no raw water

That does look like them but yours are in much better shape. Mine are missing the cover panels with the nameplates unfortunately. If you have an electronic copy of the manual I would love to have it. If not please don't go to all of the trouble of scanning it. I'm just happy to at least know...

    Cruisair heat no raw water

That is incredible news. I just figured boat was like house in that you could have any brand name thermostat and it didn't really affect the system. Clearly not and I can now just ignore that cruisair manual I have. I'm pretty sure I don't have any plates to reference but I should be able to...

    Cruisair heat no raw water

Did look real quick before leaving. I'm only about 90% sure what a reversing valve looks like but I'm pretty sure I don't have one.

Dang thing posted upside down. Sorry but I don't know how to fix that.

Getting ready to leave the boat so this will be an item for another day. Here is a pic though.

    Cruisair heat no raw water

Thanks. I spent a couple hours trying that shortly after buying the boat. I didn't find anything other than some dead ends. New to boat ownership though so if anyone knows anything about the company let me know.

    Cruisair heat no raw water

Old boat. Who knows. I don't see anything clearly printed on any of the hardware pieces. There are a few component pieces with labeling I'm going to try to look up for any hints.
