MS 34 Trawler speed & fuel burn

When not in the "delivery mode" and the admiral, dogs etc. are on board we run at 2,500. But at 2,700 and 9.3kts. The instruments show throttle at 70% and engine load of 49%. To run on a plane it needs to run 3,200 to get up...trim tabs and then throttle back to 3,100 that lets it hang on a...

Tom, We came down Coatan Sound (Coinjock to River Dunes) last week (first time not going the Alligator River ICW route) and had no problems...several other 40 ft-ish power boats as well. I don't think we ever saw less than 8ft on the depth sounder. We did not go into Manteo. Cheers bryan

What you do in real life?

Spent 40 years racing sailboats ...420's in college, Snipes, C&C 34, J-105...Block Island Race week, ALIR, Key West, etc. many times. Decided that too much time was spent rounding up 4-8 other guys, logistics, etc. Helped a friend move his boat up the ICW a little over a year ago and I was...

    Mainship 34 Trawler

We bought an '09 34T in Dec. and have put 400hrs on it so far. We love it...as Dave said its perfect for a couple (and our two dogs). We're half through our 3rd trip down the ditch. I don't know that I'd head out if it was 5' but I've been out off NJ coast and had it blow up to 5'. Found a...

30A vs 50A Twist Lock vs Smart Plugs

don, On my '09 Mainship I have two 30amp SmartPlugs plugged into two SmartPlug outlets on the boat. The two 30amp cords (bought new from SmartPlug) are attached to the 2-30amp to 50amp pigtail. I use the 50 pig tail where ever I can as I think the connection to the pedestal is much better...
