Water heater sizing Q&A for liveaboards.

We are a couple of liveaboard cruisers. I have a 20g Seaward with heat exchanger. When heating water via engine waste heat or excess generator capacity, I view making hot water as a way to store free energy. I can store more free energy with a 20g tank than with a 10g tank. With 20g and a...

    iPad, AIS and radar

What will Garmin offer? I agree it looks good if u want ipad. I wish Navionics (garmin) would offer their Nav+ for pc with ais and a wifi radar garmin radar. I have read the Furuno wifi radar is pretty minimal. Hard to buy now when the near future may be much better.

    Boat books, fiction

On another thread, a few of us were commenting about good reads of boating fiction. I bet our collective experience can recommend some. Do you have one? I mostly gave up fiction in my 30's and 40's for purposeful non-fiction reads. I've been coming back to fiction more recently. For me...

    Found my boat!?

Boat books, fiction Art, that "old" librarian was probably 40. I'm with McGillicuddy on still reading fiction. I mostly gave it up in my 30's and 40's for purposeful non-fiction reads. For me, non-fiction is about understanding things that might matter in the future. Friction is about enjoying...

    Found my boat!?

She's the Caroline C, at anchor in the Manatee River, listing 10 degrees to starboard, and swinging any darn way she pleases. Many great suggestions from all of you with too much time. The pink or lavender color ideas have inspired me to pursue a paisley hull on my next boat. Kinda like a...
