I usually keep a spare unit available. When it "craps out" i send it to Raritan for R&R. They usualy last 3 yrs of 3 season use in the Sea of Cortez. For best results I manually add salt to each flush. I usually get extended use by soaking overnight with plumbers acid.

Looking to purchase a 1980s trawler

With twin engines you dont need a bow thruster. With one engine fwd and second aft and full rudder the boat will turn on its own axis.

It seems I am updating everythink but the kitchen sink. Well here goes

Recommendation: When you replace the sink don't get a divied one. You can always add a dishpan if you need a separated sink but a large sink gives you the advantage of being able to work on large items, whole fish ect.

    Water Hose from Dock

Water Hose Many marinas prohibit a direct connection to a boat. I found the best hose is a heavy duty 5/8" rubber hose. I use mine for washing and filling my water tank. Note: Be sure to purge the standing water from the hose before filling your tank.
