    fridge "dripping tray" frozen

    exhaust pipe on a CDH

"... when the heater is turned off, the hot gas in the pipe cools down, shrinks and sucks in moisture from the outside. the amount of condensation is purely dependent on the length of the exhaust pipe and the moisture content in the air" the manual says this inverted U shape is to prevent water...

    exhaust pipe on a CDH

I had planned the pipe to come downward gently from the heater to the outlet. but the Espar d4 manual for marine installation specified a 90 degree bend with drain coils, and the exhaust pipe comes up and down forming an inverted U shape, before landing on a through hull that is higher than the...

    fridge "dripping tray" frozen

I spotted water puddle at the bottom inside of the fridge, leaking through door seal onto the floor. Then I followed this video to take the dripping assembly out. instead of gunk plugging the drain hole, I found the water inside the "dripping tray" is frozen, it is the ice that was blocking the...

    electrical connector question

i didn't think it through how the back feed could happen when the existing wires are not disconnected. Here is an diagram of the gen. battery and the fuel lift pump. the curved wires are the jumper cables, the arrows are the alligator clips. The existing circuit remains open when the generator...

rudder question (marine trader 40 sundeck)

I only found one bolt near the top end of the steering cylinder, the one in the circle below. does this bolt join the steering cylinder to the tiller arm?

    electrical connector question

Thanks for the idea. but this work is very low frequency. it's only needed at every filter change on the gen. racor, and is really a one time thing at the mounting of the CDH metering pump. so I'd save the effort of installing a lift pump and consider making a manual jumper tool.

    electrical connector question

I found 22-14g alligator clip online, but it may be too small for a battery post? I need to make the jumper cable myself, because the electrical port on the CHD metering pump requires a 2-pin harness connector. I need to get such a harness and splice to the cables using some butt connectors

    electrical connector question

there are two pumps I have in mind first one is a fuel lift pump on a westerbeke 6.0. The other one is a small metering pump on a CDH. I didn't find the wattage of the first one

    electrical connector question

there are situations where I need to manually jump a pump, either the fuel lift pump on a westerbeke 6.0, or a small metering pump on a CDH. what cable and connectors do you usually use to clip to a house battery or a distribution panel?

@Portage_Bay can this flex duct work as insulation for the hot air hose? the webasto thermoduct insulation has similar caliber/design, but costs ~6 times as much.

    Drilling through wood panels

@Bmarler is the lagging wrapped on top of the sleeve? or directly around the exhaust pipe without a sleeve? silicone sleeves seem to have an operating temp up to 500F (one example, also this one), but the exhaust temp can get higher than that (500-600F) : see Forced Air Diesel Heater Exhaust...
