This is the hole for the DC outlet. I cannot see the laminate clearly. Is it fiberglass with balsa core?

    Question related to wood fixture

I got the wiring. One pair of wires come from the circuit breaker. The other pair goes to the second DC outlet on the starboard side of the station.

    Question related to wood fixture

Already have this book. I'm reading it on the bus occasionally. Is it to essentially combine two wires into a higher gauge wire, to minimize voltage drop?

    Question related to wood fixture

1 If not using tape, what do you use for insulation? 2 What is the purpose of feeding two wires into one outlet?

    wifi honeywell thermostat control unit

I didn't know the new thermostat runs by either a default or customized program, and it is important to select the fan type correctly for the reverse cycle ac (function #3 set to 1, see attached). When I finished the installation, I left it in heating mode. Now the thermostat works in either...

    Question related to wood fixture

The wires to the DC outlet are wrapped tightly in elec tapes. I already removed one layer and saw a second layer, as shown. Further, each quick connector is also wrapped. Is it a common practice to tape this way for insulation? Is it common practice to feed two pairs of DC wires to one outlet

    Question related to wood fixture

Here is the closet aft of the galley. The green dashed line depicts the flooring behind the scene, the purple dashed line is where the bulkhead is. Are the floor boards screwed to the top edge of the bulkhead?

    Question related to wood fixture

Thanks. are bulkhead panels joined to the hull using similar joints, or using only fiber reinforced plastic?

    Question related to wood fixture

Thanks. I'm just curious how I can put that middle piece in place if I work on assembling the station from scratch. this is the photo of the back side. The back side has some screws along the middle line. But these screws cannot explain how this piece is joined to the neighboring members

    Question related to wood fixture

thanks. that definitely is a nice addition to the station. what confuses me is how the wood pieces were joined together, see my post 6

    Question related to wood fixture

Thanks. I tested other DC outlets. It works as expected in other outlets. So the problem is this outlet.

    Question related to wood fixture

The lower helm's side profile has a "one step rise" shape. I wonder how the long narrow piece in the middle is joined to the neighboring pieces. I thought there are hidden screws at the joining interfaces. But it turns out, the screws are roughly along the middle line, as shown in the last two...

    Question related to wood fixture

It's a cigarette type plug with a USB adapter. Do you mean this type of adapters have a high failure rate, or they cause more corrosion to the DC outlets?

    Question related to wood fixture

The dc outlet has become on and off (lower helm control panel), the exact reason is unknown. I think it's easier to put a new one in than to diagnose the outlet. DC outlets usually have a lock nut behind the panel. Does the panel have an access port? There are two wood covers on the back and...

    wifi honeywell thermostat control unit

I didn't see the reversing valve. This is the whole unit (in the aft cabin): Behind the fan, the cylinder container (model 2r8s3r126a) is the compressor. Is it supposed to have two pipes in the bottom and 3 out the top?

    wifi honeywell thermostat control unit

Thanks. The (freon) RV solenoid is "on unit", meaning it's on the compressor? It's a far reach, I didn't see which fitting it is. When the fan relay receives a "fan on" signal from the stat, how does the fan relay switch the fan on?

    wifi honeywell thermostat control unit

The manual in post 6 has logic wiring diagrams. This one is for the unit. Are both the fan and reverse valve relay controlled by the temp setting on the thermostat unit? Here is the diagram for the electrical box

The contactor on the upper right corner is called a relay. So it's an automatic conditional switch. What's the condition that this relay is closed?

    wifi honeywell thermostat control unit

It's sort of a pleasing surprise that the ac started running when I closed the breaker, after adding the c wire and c wire adapter and installed the new thermostat. Because the old thermostat became unable to control the ac after I added the c wire& adapter. I thought it could be some of the...

    Scratches on swim platform

Evercoat premium gel kote (laminating gelcoat) is 2/3 of the price of their premium finish step gelcoat. TotalBoat also has both gelcoat containing wax (14409) and without wax (488419) at the same price. It appears the gelcoat without wax the equivalent of Evercoat's laminating gelcoat

    Scratches on swim platform

since the gouges have already been filled, I think one coat is sufficient. My original plan is to spray a waxed gelcoat in overlapping passes and repeat several times. this is to continuously apply one waxed coat over the previous waxed coat. I'm not sure if this is correct. because it was...
