Yes you can but what I was talking about is a system that will power a 1200 square foot house and above completely, without any noticeable change in someone’s daily activities. That is when it becomes cost prohibitive to most.

In the NEAR future the best way to really work towards alternative energy is to get the cost of home solar decreased to where 70 percent of people can afford it. That could have a significant impact.

Do you know about the Tollycraft Club?

Yes it is through the transom. It was where the original swim platform was attached. The through bolt was a 3/8 inch diameter. I was thinking about glassing up one side fill with thickened epoxy then glass the other side.

Do you grind through all the gel coat to get to the underlying fiberglass? Is that what the epoxy resin and fiberglass mat adheres to? Chris

Does anyone know if there is wood under that glass or is it straight glass?

My plan is to fix those after the tank is out and before the new one goes in. The replacement tank is not going to be as tall and installing it with those support beam in place will not be an issue.

I do not feel comfortable cutting gas tanks. I would probably have no problem if it were diesel. Chris

1974 Tollycraft 26 Sedan Would there be any draw back to remove two small sections of fiberglass that is just above the tanks. I would be able to remove the tanks without having to remove the engine. After the tanks are out I could repair the fiberglass, order a tank that is 2-4 inches shorter...
